That sounds awfully familiar.  The daily report already IS a separate
list, operated through the same list server as CTBirds.  It differs
in that it is a broadcast-only list, with rights to send messages
restricted to myself, Nick Bonomo, and anyone else I may set up.

CTBirds currently has 438 members, while the daily report has 577
subscribers.  Note that the subscriber list for the daily report has
grown substantially since CTBirds started, and continues to grow. 
That surprised me, but in retrospect I think it is a matter of "a
rising tide lifts all boats", and the two are supporting each other.

It seems worth noting in passing that the one year anniversary for
CTBirds was last month.  I am quite impressed with what the
participants have made of it.
