I went to see if I could find the Blue-winged Teal that were reported yesterday to be mixed in with a flock of Green-winged Teal. On the way into the field there was a very conspicuous Pileated Woodpecker making all kinds of noise. I found the puddle filled with 50+ Green-winged Teal. I also saw a Male Northern Pintail.-I didn't see a Blue-winged teal but I didn't have much time to look because someone came out to walk their dog. Apparently, ducks don't care much for dogs.
I also stooped by the Pine Brook Bog off of Terp Road in East Hampton. I counted at least 85 Ring-necked Ducks there. I also saw 2 Wood Ducks .
