[CT Birds] 3/18 Lyme and Old Saybrook birds; 3/17 Rocky Neck SP

3/18 -- some mid-afternoon highlights from Lyme and Old Saybrook:     

pond off of Tantamorantum Rd in Lyme -- 6 ring-necked ducks,
also several eastern bluebirds along Rt 156 nearby

Seldon Creek in Lyme -- 1 northern harrier, several common mergansers

North Cove in Old Saybrook -- 15 LESSER SCAUP, 1 common merganser, 12 ruddy 
ducks, 50+ bufflehead, 1 northern harrier,  1 seal and several monk parakeets 
calling nearby

in the CT River just north of Dock and Dine -- 19 LESSER SCAUP
(no Bonaparte's gulls -5PM)

 nothing in South Cove other than a few bufflehead -5:15PM

3/17 in the marshes of Rocky Neck SP:

several green-winged teal and Am. wigeon; there were no signs of any osprey 
when I  was there.

The two RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES that have been at my feeders all winter are 
still here.
