[CT Birds] About Eagles

There has been a rather dramatic increase in reports of Bald  Eagles on this 
list and from the NOS group recently.  I saw 3  imm. Bald Eagles Tuesday in 
the Pomfret area, and two just last Friday at  the Beaver Dam Marsh in the 
Natchaug State Forest. Today Dana Campbell  reported seeing two eagles 
in the Glastonbury Meadows. Chris Elphick  reported seeing three at 
once in Eagleville just a week or 2 ago, and I saw  1 there a couple 
of weeks before that. I believe Steve Morytko has reported  two sightings 
recently in the Ashford area.   One imm. was reported a  week or so ago at 
Mansfield hollow on several different days, and I just learned  that one imm. and 1 
adult were seen there together on Saturday.  In the  last month or two there 
have been many 
other sightings reported. It appears  that our national bird has truly 
made a comeback in CT and  has suddenly become much more common 
in the state. I still get a thrill  every time I see one and I hope 
the trend continues. They are an inspiring  sight.
