Yes, there are fish crows about the Green in Washington, CT. During the 2006 Woodbury-Roxbury Christmas Count, I think it was that year, Renee Baade and I had a fish crow on the Green in Washington, CT. Renee heard the fish crow first. I was not as positive that the bird in question was a fish crow until I heard it a bit and then agreed with Renee's call. I have always thought of fish crows as being associated with fairly good sized bodies of water so I was surprised with the fish crow in Washington, CT. The Shepaug River is just below the Washington Green so I suspect the fish crow Renee and I had had come up the Shepaug River via the Housatoinic River.
I have to wonder about the vocalizations of crows. Is it possible for fish crow and American crows to sound alike? I recall reading somewhere that young American crows can sound a bit like fish crows.
