[CT Birds] Purple Finches

3/21  I have had from 3 to 7 Purple Finches (1 male and 6 females) coming to my feeders in Durham this winter. I had 7 today. The male's plumage has become vibrant over the past few weeks.
   
  I saw 3 Great Blue Herons flying in a line yesterday in Middlefield. They were flying away from Lake Beseck.  
   
  The number of turkeys in my yard is increasing. I had 37 two days ago. I saw over 60 in my neighbor's front yard at the beginning of the week with several males displaying.
