I went to Station 43 in South Windsor this morning and the pond had lots of ducks, including: lots of green-winged teal and ring-necks, 2 NORTHERN SHOVELER & 1 BLUE-WINGED TEAL and about 8-10 NORTHERN PINTAIL. On the way in a GRAY CATBIRD was sitting in a sunny multiflora rose bush. At the north end of the pond was a swamp sparrow. As I was walking south to Vibert Road, a flock of 12 COMMON SNIPE were flying around the fields, last seen going south, and a FOX SPARROW popped up from a tangle. A gray morph EASTERN SCREECH OWL was also seen. Just north of Vibert Rd, in a habitat unlikly for this critter, was a red squirrel.
