My sister and her kids, who live on several acres in Newtown, came to dinner Sunday night with a good story. Seems the "Easter Bunny" had risen early and hidden 54 good old-fashioned hard boiled, hand colored, eggs around their back yard. Then, they had been away from the house for several hours of activities. As they pulled into the driveway, they were debating about when to hold the egg hunt, when they were distracted by a large black bird flying past the car. It swooped by and landed in a tree, sporting a brightly colored egg in it's bill! In point of fact, there were several American Crows sitting around. The kids hastened to the hunt, and with the final tally discovered that there were 15 eggs missing, including some of the most elaborately colored ones they had created the day before. Not bad work for the crows. I happen to know that the "Easter Bunny" at that house is a Master at hiding eggs!
