Observed from windows facing marsh 9:45AM-1PM
Our ospreys have returned :)
Male returned late on 3/21 and female on 3/23. Last year both birds
returned on 3/22....amazing timing. (and this was a leap year).
They were both on the nest this morning, until the male left to go fishing.
Female stayed on the nest most of the morning, but she was harassed by crows
and took off for a short time. Around 11:55AM the male returned, bringing
a portion of a fish for the female. Around 12:45PM, the female brought back
a huge branch and did some housekeeping.
On the marsh were green winged teals, red breasted mergansers, ring billed
gulls, mute swans, mallards, American black ducks, American wigeons, canvas
back ducks, a northern harrier.
At the grounds & feeders were crows, mourning doves, chickadees, American
robins, Red winged blackbirds, house sparrows, house finches, common grackles,
song sparrows, American tree sparrows, Common redpolls, song sparrows and
starlings.
And lots of human visitors.
