Hi all,

Several folks have asked me if I'd do a birding by ear course at the Milford Coastal Center, so I'm running a 1-night, "Sorting out Bird Sounds"?class, next Thursday, April 3, from 7-9. There is a fee.?For more information visit our webpage at:?www.ctaudubon.org or call the Coastal?Center at 203-878-7440. I'm also offering Extended Birding 101 with an owl prowl,?that has?1 of the?3?evenings?concentrating on birding by ear,?starting Wednesday night, from 7-9, April 2. A third course,?Birding for?Beginners, starts Tuesday night, April 1, as well. ?I hope it's OK to mention it here, as I thought it the most efficient way to reach everyone.

Thanks, and I'll hope to see you there.

Birds: The flock of 20+ Common Redpolls is still visiting the feeders at the Coastal Center, that are?behind the building.?Both the Ospreys are back.? The male returned on the 21st, and the female on the 23rd, right on schedule.? Our webcam is up and running, so have a look. They're starting to set up shop.? There have been quite a few ducks around. 45+ Canvasbacks are still in the marsh, with?150+ Gadwall most days,?a few wigeon and green-winged teal. Two days ago, 3/25, a short-billed dowitcher showed up with 4-5 Greater?Yellowlegs. It may have been around the day before near?Court Street, as well. There are now 2-pair of Am. Oystercatchers?on the bar.? The second pair arrived on Saturday, 3/22. The Piping Plovers are back, as well. The large raft of greater scaup 750+ is still hanging around just off shore.
