A question for anyone interested....

My wife & I found a dead Coopers Hawk today along the roadside, obviously hit by a car but relatively unmarked.
We moved it onto a nearby lawn and left it there, carrying with us some of the down feathers left next to the body - so amazing how fast your hands warm up with that lovely down.

The question is - would anyone want that beautiful creature for study or for the feathers, etc?
I thought about hiding it under a shrub but didn't and some person or animal may pick it up soon.
The hawk was found on Main St. in Stratford, Wed afternoon.
