It was a good day birding in the yard (list below). I also had 3 species of bees including honey bee and bumble bee. I saw the Osprey and Bald Eagle twice and the Osprey was definitely harassing the eagle at low and high altitude. Last year Osprey nested nearby in a large swamp and Great Blue Heron rookery in Eastford. When I last saw them there were 2 large nestlings on it which I presume fledged. This may be one of the pair staking claim to its territory. A nesting Bald Eagle would be even more interesting! The Red-headed Woodpecker is not drumming which suggests to me it may be a female. Anyone know who establishes the territory - male or female?
