[CT Birds] turkey vultures & flying penguins

2 years ago, there were 5-6 turkey vultures sitting on my  neighbor's roof 
right next to her chimney.  One was actually sitting  on the chimney top with 
its wings extended.  
Also, I read & saw the BBC article & UTube ,  about the "flying penguins".
Being that I am not that knowledgeable regarding the evolution  of the 
penguin, I assume it is a spoof?
