[CT Birds] Great Blue Herons, Ring-necked Ducks, East Haddam

Thanks to Hank Golet for posting a message about the Great Blue Herons and Ring-necked Ducks at the beaver pond on Daniels Road, East Haddam.  I saw them around 5 p.m. and was thrilled!  Those Herons are quite a site flying around out there and it almost seems unnatural seeing them sitting on nests and in trees.  And the Ring-necked Ducks are a lifer for me!  Sure wish I had better bins...  I still haven't had a chance to go shopping for a new pair.  

Down the road a bit (corner of Town St. & Landing Hill, East Haddam) is a pond that had 40+ Ring-necked Ducks, too.  Great views of them.  Lots of Tree Swallows, too.
