3 April 08 -- Milford Point
Because the Piping Plovers are back (about 10 today) at the spit & neighboring beaches in front of the Ct Audubon Coast Center, please take care when birding there. Right now they're establishing nesting territories & courting. Also, at least two pair of American Oystercatchers are back & we hope will nest on or near the spit. Other birds at the Coastal Center today include the remaining Common Redpolls, the returned nesting Osprey pair, and 3 Snow Geese paddling next to the spit.
