Thanks Ron. While Sandy Point has now breached in a few locations at
mid and high tides, birders may still prefer to walk Sandy Pt instead
of Morse Pt during the nesting season since walking Sandy Pt allows
you to keep a greater distance from the nesting terns and plovers.
At/near low tide, the breaches along Sandy Pt can generally be crossed
in ankle-to-knee deep water. Be careful though, as the tide can come
in quickly and leave you wading up to your waist or higher! For those
who do not wish to get their feet wet, Morse Point is the way to go if
you want to be able to walk all the way towards the tip of the point.
But keep in mind that this brings you closer to the edge of the
nesting colony (greater chance of disturbing the birds, which get a
lot of that from the local walkers), and the marsh lagoon is much more
difficult to see from this side.
