I had written e-mail "thank yous" to the  legislators involved with the $4.5 
M increase for the DEP .    If conclusively passed, will there be an 
opportunity to have some of those  funds to go directly for purchase of open 
space/grasslands etc. for the  birds?  I have been reading the comments regarding a bird 
seed tax and  have learned from the many opinions.  The Pittman Robertson Act 
(way  back) did earmark the tax dollars received to go specifically for 
wildlife  usage. So that was what I was thinking of.  I do realize the many  
obstacles & pitfalls of such a new tax now.  I do contribute to  several wildlife & 
conservation societies which I feel strongly support  what I believe in.  
Perhaps, like some of you mentioned, that is the best  way to go.
