In answer to Bobs question of:

So what does a REDPOLL weigh? Well I have one in the freezer, and on the Weightwatchers scale it comes in at 1/2 Oz.
In Bents book, it states: Adults are 13 - 14 grams. Thats very light weight and in the hand its like holding nothing at all. I was amazed how small this bird really is in the hand.

Also today, I again had a visit from the much larger Common Redpoll subspecies. It seems to feed by itself, and much more often on the ground.

I still have 20 REDPOLLS feeding today, April 8th, and in 2 days will beat my late record - please post your last sighting to this post on your last sighting to know when the last Redpoll has left the State.
PS) working on my 5th bag of Nyger!
