Hi Dave:
  This is in line with BirdLife International's latest (2004) assessment of Bonaparte's Gull, which lists them in the category of "Least Concern".  The assessment, which includes population estimates and estimates of range size.  This resource from BirdLife International and from IUCN (Formerly the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) are quite useful:
