Do Northern Gannets tend to fly together in nice even diagonal rows? I saw some birds far out over the water at HAmmonasett that were flying in close groups, but lined up in a rows of about 3 per group. I wasn't sure if gulls did that. I don't have a scope so couldn't see any identifying marks.
I did get a good look at the Golden Plover in the Nature Center field though. Couldn't find the Bittern, as usual, but saw Tree Swallows, Great Egrets, and Oyster Catchers (out on a rock where I saw seals in the early spring).
