Not as exciting as the waxwing, but yesterday (11th) there were tree (12+), northern rough-winged (1) and barn (1) swallows at the Eagleville Preserve in Storrs, plus field sparrow and purple finch (rare for us) at our feeders. This morning there were chipping sparrows singing on campus. Chris Chris Elphick Storrs, CT elphick at sbcglobal.net
