[CT Birds] Bent of the River bird sightings

Saturday, April 12, Between 11 a.m. and noon Donna Rose Smith and Judith Stevens observed:

1 Osprey
3 pairs of Red-tailed Hawks migrating north escorted perhaps by one of the pairs.
1 Black Vulture

On the ground, around the Barn:
3 Palm Warblers - Male
1 Chipping Sparrow, beautifully marked
Many Field Sparrows
2 Tree Swallows
2 Phoebe residents gleaning moss for their nest site
Many Song Sparrows
We also noticed that there seems to be a problem with some of the resident White-throated Sparrows; their eyes look rheumy and swollen.
