>From Donna Lorello:
April 12, 2008 - Branford - while attending the installation of a new Osprey
platform, 8 Glossy Ibis flew over as well as a great egret, greater
yellowlegs, and unidentified swallows (quick fly by - not enough to pick up
details in the morning fog).
Branford yard - first chipping sparrow of the season
Yesterday, my friend reported 11 snowy egrets in the small pond in her yard
- house near center of town
Also, Branford Supply Pond - Khaki Campbell drake - this is one of two birds
apparently dumped off there - one bird was killed either by a car or a hawk.
The other bird spent that first day rather upset but has apparently settled
in with the rest of the mallards. If it is of anyone's opinion that this
bird should be removed, my mom was good enough to talk to a rehabilitator
who would be willing to take it if someone could assist in helping capture
bird safely.
