212 Species Reported to Date for 2008 in CT. New arrivals will hit us in big
numbers over the next 4 weeks. And in my humble opinion, the first
Black-and-white Warbler probably is somewhere in CT already. New species
added since last post;

Willet. John Ogren reported 4 in Old Saybrook on 4/12.

Spotted Sandpiper. Charla and Steve Spector reported 1 in Milford on the
4/12.

Long-billed Dowitcher. Meredith Sampson reported 1 at Hammonasset on the
4/12. Long-billed Dowitcher is very rare in CT in Spring with few records.

Purple Martin. Dennis Varza had 2 in Southport on the 4/13. Rather early
arrival for this species, by say a week or so?

Northern Parula. Ernie Harris reported one from Hebron/Bolton on the 4/13.

Northern Waterthrush. Ernie Harris reported one from Hebron/Bolton on the
4/13. I expected this species to be reported sooner as in the past I have
had them back on territory around the 10th of April in eastern CT before
Louisianas have shown up in the same area.
