I went to East Rock this morning before I was supposed to go to class. I got there around 8:00 and left at 9:30. Here are the highlights:

14 Palm Warblers - I got many good looks since a lot of them were foraging on the ground or eye level.
1 Brown Creeper
4 Swamp Sparrows
1 Tree Swallow
4 Northern Rough-winged Swallows
2 Eastern Phoebes
7 Ruby-crowned Kinglets
2 Golden-crowned Kinglets

Oddly, I didn't hear or see and Yellow-rumped Warblers, or Pine Warblers, nor did I encounter the Hermit Thrush everyone has been reporting from there. I did have a Yellow-rumped in my backyard here in Hamden, plus I just saw that a pair of House Finches decided to build a nest in the awning of the front door of my apartment building.
