Wilson's Snipe, 3 American Woodcock still displaying, 4 MARSH WRENS; 1 Wood
Duck, 4 American Black Ducks, 2 Common Mergansers, 350 Tree Swallows, 4
Northern Rough-winged Swallows, 30 Swamp Sparrows

White Hall Rd. (White Memorial's Interpretive Trail) - 2 Yellow-bellied
Sapsuckers; 2 Pileated Woodpeckers

(Museum Area) - 5 Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers having major territorial
battles, 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch, 5 Purple Finches; 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk, 2
Pileated Woodpeckers, 4 Eastern Bluebirds, 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet, 2
Yellow-rumped Warblers, 2 Pine Warblers

(Pine Grove 2 & Mill Field Trail) - 4 Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers; 2 Pileated
Woodpeckers, 1 Pine Warbler

(Ongley Field & Pond) - 75 Tree Swallows

(Windmill Hill) - 2 Pileated Woodpeckers

Note: All of the above-mentioned Pileated Woodpeckers & Yellow-bellied
Sapsuckers were different birds. On many occasions they were drumming &/or
calling in response to each other. Numerous territorial chases were observed

(Mill Field Trail) - 1 American Woodcock; 50 Tree Swallows, 2 Pine Warblers

(Ongley Pond Trail) - 1 Pileated Woodpecker

(Interpretive Trail) - 1 Pileated Woodpecker

(Mattatuck Trail @ Chickadee Bridge) - 1 American Woodcock

N. Shore Rd. (Bantam Lake's Pt. Folly) - 3 Buffleheads, 4 American Coots

(Bantam Lake's N. Bay) - 3 Common Mergansers

S. Lake St. (White Memorial's Little Pond Boardwalk) - 1 amazingly
cooperative AMERICAN BITTERN that was in full view in front of the cattails
in the northeast corner of the pond from 7:20 until 7:50 p.m., 2 Virginia
Rails, 1 Wilson's Snipe, 5 displaying American Woodcock, 3 singing Marsh
Wrens, 4 Rusty Blackbirds; 2 Wood Ducks, 2 Common Mergansers, 250 Tree
Swallows, 1 Bank Swallow, 1 Northern Rough-winged Swallow
