Nice to see palm warblers coming through this part of northwest CT today (20 Apr, Sunday). I walked around the fields at the Macricostas section of the Steep Rock Preserve here in Washington, CT this AM and counted three palm warblers. It was interesting to ID one of the palm warblers by it's weak flight before I could get my bins on it. This bird was feeding next to nice male eastern bluebird in the field that has bluebird/tree swallow boxes. There were also at least two male Savannah sparrows on the edges of the large farm field here also. I believe I also saw female Savannah sparrow with one of the male Savannah sparrows.
