I had my first Eastern towhee for the season, this evening in my
backyard....beautiful rusty colored sides.
Also one female purple finch, pair of chipping sparrows, Mr. & Mrs.
Cardinal (male feeding female), and Mr. & Mrs. Woodchuck wobbling through. My
goldfinches have returned this season., 2 downies, 2 red bellies, 2 flickers,
mourning doves, 3 white throated sparrows, along with the blue jays, house
sparrows, house finches, titmouses; the robins seem to be enjoying the bird baths.
I have planted highbush blueberry, dogwood and arrowwood viburnum, now that
I am learning about native plant species. Listening to the yard is just as
entertaining as watching it.
All in all, a beautiful spring day.
