I spent some time in the Racebrook Tract this morning, on the Orange-Woodbridge line. This is former Regional Water Authority property, now owned by the two towns, so no permit is required. Very easy walking.Among the spring birds I saw and heard were : eastern phoebe, eastern towhee, blue-winged warbler, black and white warbler, palm warbler, ruby-crowned kinglet, pine warblers (at least four singing in the pines by the power cut), house wrens (two singing within earshot of each other). As I left the parking lot, a red-tailed hawk and two black vultures were circling overhead.
