This morning, at 10 AM here in Harwinton Sat, April 26, saw and heard chirps of 2 EVENING GROSBEAK (both males) fly over house heading SOUTH towards Thomaston!

Also: About Crows. We all know the disdane Crows have towards Owls and Hawks, but to each other? yes, I do see them occasionally during the breeding season chase other crows away from their terretory - This happens with most birds in defending their nesting territory. But today I saw something different.

A pair of Common Crows are nesting in a tall White Pine tree near my yard. This morning I witnest a Crow on the nest, thinking it one of the pair. Instantly two Crows came shooting and screaming in from the woods, chasing the other away. It apeared the other Crow had a baby Crow in its bill.

I didn't know Crows predated on their own kind? They seem to be so protective and gragarous towards each other, flocking and roosting together in such great numbers during the off season.
