Yard birds over the weekend, April 25-26:

The sapsuckers and the downies have been entertaining me during my convalescence, and I got some interesting photos of their behavior.  The first link below is to photos of sapsuckers mating, the second link is to photos of female downies in what I guess is a territorial dispute.  Some of the wing beating shots seem to suggest a reason for downy WP plumage patterns.
