[CT Birds] Ruffed Grouse

Anders and I did a Boy Scout campout this weekend at the Barbour Wilderness Scout Camp off of Loon Meadow Road in Norfolk, CT. After we reached our campsite on Sat. I told the scouts this was prime area for Ruffed Grouse and to be listening for one of them drumming-one of the "neat sounds" of nature. Sure enough the next morning, not only did we flush one, but we heard another 3 males "thumping". The kids were amazed that a bird could make a sound like that.
