Did my local bird/exercise walk here in Washington, CT this AM. I counted four towhees in my walk on South St and Nichols Hill Rd. I thought I briefly heard a ruffed grouse drumming on Nichols Hill Rd, between South St and Painter Ridge Rd. Ruffed grouse have been fairly regular along Nichols Hill Rd here. Coming back to our property here on South St I had a house wren behind my summer cottage, where I have a wren box where house wrens nest every year.
