[CT Birds] Hammo 4/30/08

At 9:00 am 7 GLOSSY IBIS   next to the  Swan Pond at the west end.  Later 2 
by the western picnic pavillion.   Saw them flying back and forth in the area 
all day. 
1 Little Blue Heron at the Swan Pond and 1 at the Meig's Point  Nature Center 
pond.  
Many Snowy Egrets and several Great Egrets in all parts of the  park.
2 Willets each at the marsh reclaimation area near the blind,  reclamation 
area near the beach lot, and the Nature Center pond.  Not sure  of there was 6 
total or if they were following me around.  
2 Boat-tailed Grackles where the trails split on Willard's  Island.   The 
female was carrying nesting materials into the cedars  and the male was standing 
guard in a tree.  Saw him make quick work of  chasing a crow.  Looks like they 
are planning on  staying.
At least 1 Barn Swallow along with the Tree Swallows at  the Swan Pond and 
the campground area.
Many Savannah Sparrows and Chipping Sparrows in the camp  area.   
All the Osprey platforms are busy.
No sign of the White-rumped Sandpiper.
