Red-breasted Nuthatch at sunflower feeder (1st time in 8 yrs?),
Yellow-rumped Warbler male in blooming sugar maples, two new
White-throated Sparrows, one recently arrived Song Sparrow, and Carolina
Wren (winter resident) staying close to new brush pile Wednesday 30
April 2008, in Westford portion of Ashford. Rufous-sided Towhee pair has
been here ~4days. Morning temperatures below or at freezing and windy
afternoons at 700' elevation presumably have contributed to reduced
species and number of anticipated arrivals.
