[CT Birds] Mansfield, 5/1/08

Mansfield Hollow at the Field Trial area on North Windham Road off of  
Bassett's Bridge:
4 Pine Warblers, 1 Black-and-white Warbler, 1 Palm  Warbler, 3 Blue-gray 
Gnatcatchers, 1 Eastern Towhee.
Mansfield Hollow on  the old road by the lake off of Rt 89:
c 15 Palm Warblers, c 8 Yellow-rumped  Warblers, 2 Yellow Warblers (my 
FOY), 1 Black-and-white Warbler, 1 Blue-gray  Gnatcatcher. 
I didn't see much at first here, but I was enveloped by a mixed  flock 
of warblers feeding on insects being blown in from the lake. I was  
standing in the middle of the road with birds on all sides of me, high  
and low. They were snatching insects out of the air over my head and  
perching within 6 feet of me. The Palm Warblers were singing in the  
trees. They seemed to totally disregard my presence. This lasted 
about  an hour and then they just disappeared.
Eagleville Preserve:
1 Palm  Warbler, 1 Black-and-white Warbler, 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 1 
Yellow  Warbler, 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, 1 Coopers Hawk.
