Mansfield Hollow at the Field Trial area on North Windham Road off of
Bassett's Bridge:
4 Pine Warblers, 1 Black-and-white Warbler, 1 Palm Warbler, 3 Blue-gray
Gnatcatchers, 1 Eastern Towhee.
Mansfield Hollow on the old road by the lake off of Rt 89:
c 15 Palm Warblers, c 8 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 2 Yellow Warblers (my
FOY), 1 Black-and-white Warbler, 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.
I didn't see much at first here, but I was enveloped by a mixed flock
of warblers feeding on insects being blown in from the lake. I was
standing in the middle of the road with birds on all sides of me, high
and low. They were snatching insects out of the air over my head and
perching within 6 feet of me. The Palm Warblers were singing in the
trees. They seemed to totally disregard my presence. This lasted
about an hour and then they just disappeared.
Eagleville Preserve:
1 Palm Warbler, 1 Black-and-white Warbler, 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 1
Yellow Warbler, 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, 1 Coopers Hawk.
