Hi Jim,
If you know where Station 43 is in CT, this is an area always teaming with birds.
I'll look it up in Buzz Devine's Birding CT book. Judith

5/1 station 43 in South Windsor The king rail was heard once at the far
southern end of the marsh at about 5:30 p.m. Another birder present had
brief glimpses of the bird on 4/30 on the south side of the road in the
marsh. The water on 5/1 was very, very high covering the road well before
you get to where the marsh opens up.

I had both male and female (Baltimore) Northern Orioles this morning on the orange/grape jelly feeder. I hope they are building a nest near by. Pat

While waiting for her school bus yesterday (Thursday 1st May) morning in
Wilton, CT, my daughter spotted a v-shaped flock of what from her
description seem likely to me to have been sand hill cranes flying
North. They were "grayish" with long, broad, wings and legs extended
behind. The lead bird seemed to have a lighter or white neck. They were
not swans, geese or egrets.
Is this likely?
Adam, Wilton.
