A friend of my wife told her that she had a RT hummer in her yard in Hamden yesterday, but since I couldn't substantiate it, I did not post it but felt the woman was probably correct since there is very little to confuse them with other than the hummingbird moth and it's kind of early for them.....Well, driving back into my yard this morning, I caught a glimpse of something greenish lifting off from the Humzinger hanging in the front yard...again, not good enough info to actually post on this site. BUT, I just looked out a back window, and I DEFINATELY have a hummer on the feeder in the back yard! Over the years, hummers have slowly been appearing more and more in my yard since I started to put in more and more plants as attractants for them but I don't recall ever having a notherly migrating hummer in the yard before - it was always the birds on their southerly route that stopped by. So, finally I have a hummer in the spring!
