I'm working on catching up on the year to date list (two and a half hours of
sifting through emails already today) and will be posting it much later
today. Our Spring migration has been plagued by less than favorable easterly
winds so far (though easterly winds can increase our chances of some coastal
things like Hudsonian Godwits) and rain lately. There is a break in the
weather predicted over the next couple of days with no rain and westerly
winds. This break should bring a lot of returning birds to CT. It is also a
very good weather window for rarities to show up as well. I predict someone
will find something uncommon/rare in CT like Summer Tanager, Prothonotary
Warbler, Blue Grosbeak, etc on Monday through Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
