[CT Birds] Western Tanager continues

We visited Sam an Michael Higgins home today and saw the bird well. It's a gorgeous male coming into breeding plumage. Sam sees it fairly often coming in for seed on the ground. As mentioned yesterday guests are welcome. Their address is:

38 Hammond Hill Rd.
Hampton CT

The bird is coming in to food mainly on the back side of the house but has also been seen on the right side of the yard and in the trees above the house. Sam said it's OK to come in the yard to look. The bird is a bit shy and easily spooked but regular.

Chris Elphick reminded me that there was one at Hammonassett this winter - wonder if it's the same bird? Sam has photos at:
