I have been watching the leaves on the oaks over my house for about a week now, eagerly anticipating the return of the warblers. Each spring, just after the first oak leaves emerge the insects and warblers follow closely behind. Tuesday, the leaves were out, the warm weather brought out the insects and with them the warblers. I arrived home to find the tree tops alive with them! List as follows;
Tuesday-
4 black-throated Greens
5 Yellow-rumped
3 black and white
4 chipping sparrows
4 Tufted titmice
6 chickadees
1 male Baltimore oriole
Wednesday
All of the above plus
2 Northern Parulas
2 House wrens
2 Carolina wrens
Spring has certainly sprung this week and I'll have to go for a walk this weekend.
Brian
