I stopped briefly at Station 43 in S. Windsor yesterday at 3:30. The large rain pools on the south side of the road were full of shorebirds. Unfortunately I wasn't properly equipped to ID them. I could pick out greater and lesser yellowlegs, killdeer, and what looked like solitary sandpipers, but the many peeps (some good sized flocks wheeling around over the fields) were too small and far away to ID (alas). Other than this disappointment, I had warbling vireo, white crowned sparrow, savannah sparrow, a singing winter wren, many yellow warblers, and one common yellowthroat.

For future ref: is it OK to walk around in the fields on the south side of the road, and are there other entry points other than the boat launch road?
