[CT Birds] Birding Survey, Final Request.

HI Folks

The purpose of my request for information on birding habits is
twofold, to learn about how much coverage different areas of the
state get and to learn about the habits of Connecticut birders.
Success of the project depends upon the number of people responding.
So far I have 130 responses out of about 450 possible. I received a
number of comments about only birding locally and hence of “no
interest”. This is nonsense, everyone is of interest. Of those 450
people how many are “only local “ birders? I would like to know that.
The management of the COA may find the information useful for planing
programs and services. This “self depreciating” view will bias the
results, making local birders underrepresented. Then again, there are
several “Big Guns” out there who have yet to respond as well.

This is my last request for more responses. I plan on starting data
analysis in June and it will be hard to add responses once started.
So please, all you hold outs, send something in soon.

1. make a list of the towns you cover
2. grade them by how frequently you go birding in each town, 3
frequently, 2 regularly, 1 occasionally.
3. send the list to me dennisvz at optonline.net

I hesitate to reveal too many results because it may bias future
responses.
