At Milford Point Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center, the osprey pair
continue tending to their 4 chicks...feeding all. the parents each brought in large
branches, sea grasses and some muck from the marsh to decorate the nest.
The male was feeding the female a fish this morning, and then she fed the
chicks. and sheltering them with her wings, from the wind.
It was soooo busy at the center today with school classes and visitors that
I didn't get a good look at the shore birds, except to see some semipalmated
sandpipers, semipalmated plovers , dunlins, great egrets, snowy egrets and
swans. Always nice to speak with the visitors and
talk with the school kids....so much enthusiasm and energy.
