The New England Purple Martin Working Group was recently created as a subgroup of the Northeast Partners in Flight Working Group. They are seeking to restore declining Purple Martin populations in New England. The bird is listed as Threatened in Connecticut. Documenting where Purple Martin colonies still exist and educating the public about how to attract and care for them is critical. The group is currently mapping all known colonies in Connecticut and seeking assistance. If you know of any active or recently active Purple Martin colonies, please contact Working Group representatives Geoffrey Krukar at: geoffrey.krukar at ct.gov<mailto:geoffrey.krukar at ct.gov> or Milan Bull at: mbull at ctaudubon.org<mailto:mbull at ctaudubon.org>
