6/5 Stratford, Short Beach Park, Housatonic River
flats at low tide, 6:15 pm - 4 BLACK SKIMMERS, 1
BONAPARTE'S GULL, 1500 gulls (mostly herring,
ring-billed) including 260 LAUGHING GULLS (20 adults
in alternate plumage). This is an amazing number of
LAGU in CT at this early date. Numbers like this
normally don't show up till late July, coming north
from places like NJ, post-breeding. It wouldn't
surprise me if they attempt to nest somewhere in the
area, such as the higher marsh of Nell's Island, or on
Charles Island.

6/5 Westport, shoreline along so. Hillspoint Rd.
between Compo Beach and Old Mill Beach, 7am (low tide)
- a large gathering of feeding waders including 34
GREAT EGRETS, 30 SNOWY EGRETS, 16 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS.
Sherwood Is S.P. 5pm - 1 GLOSSY IBIS in the main
grassy rotary, 2 Willets.
