[CT Birds] southern/western birds heads-up

Oops Skyler, didn't realize you had sent in your report to the
listserv also. Sorry to repeat it.

More southern (and maybe western) vagrants are very possible in the
coming days. This week's hot temps and southerly flow will only help
things. Also, June is known to be a prime time for vagrants in
general, as birds tend to wander at this time of year (presumably if
their breeding has failed elsewhere). In addition to the usual stuff
to look for (hate to sound like a broken record), Black-bellied
Whistling-Ducks have been reported in MA. Also Scissor-tailed
Flycatcher, which is being seen in NJ. There are others but I'm out of
town and late for dinner...anyway the birding can be great despite the
bulk of migration being over.
