As a brief CT birder (2 years in New Haven, much of it spent in East Rock Park and at Hammonassett chasing birds), I follow this list closely. After having relocated from New Haven to Seattle I began to learn about more about the bird/coffee connection. Coffee is a very big deal in Seattle (this is a likely a surprise to none of you) and the Seattle Audubon Chapter has a Northwest Shade Coffee Campaign that focuses on spreading knowledge about the impacts of coffee cultivation and consumption. Their website:
http://shadecoffee.org/shadecoffee/Coffee/AboutShadeCoffee.aspx
contains a great deal of information about shade coffee, the birds of coffee growing regions, shade certifications and more. While some of the information is tailored to the Pacific Northwest there is a great deal that applies everywhere.

As far as spring migration here, we are beginning to see our first Black Throated Grays, Western Tanagers, Caspian Terns and others!
