I think five swallows makes a "big gulp," and if we can add a martin... "super big gulp"?

Plus, there is a large colony of bank swallows in the sand piles just north of the sewage plant near the backstop for the ball field.  There are also barn, tree and rough-winged swallows on the River making this a 5 swallow stop!

5/25/2009 - Canton, Water Pollution Control Facility (Collinsville, along the

Farmington River) - About 10 active CLIFF SWALLOW nests.  I don't know whether

these have been reported previously, but I was pleasantly surprised to find

them, and they're well protected under eaves in the facility behind high

fences.- David Lawton
