cloudy, drizzling, 63 degrees. mid-tide rising.
At noon the female osprey was on the nest with male on  the perch.  Male 
left at 12:10PM and returned to his perch at  12:50PM with a fish still 
flopping around in his talons.  Fish was dark on  top and whitish underbelly.   
Male was eating the fish for quite  sometime as it was still alive  until at 
least 1:30PM,.
At 1:20PM a third osprey was circling the nest area for about  2 minutes.  
Both resident adults were squawking and the male was mantling  his fish.
There are 3 chicks and they were preening and rearranging  twigs on the 
Other birds seen  were 15 mute swans-1 was on a nest, 5  Great egrets,
4 mallards, grackles, house sparrows, 3  adult D.C.  cormorants and 1 
Juvenile D.C. cormorant, 2 robins, 2 mourning doves, starlings,  red winged  
blackbirds,  1 Barn swallow, 1 mockingbird, 1 song  sparrow, 
3 Cardinals(2males & 1 Female),  1 herring gull  swimming under osprey 
nest, 1 catbird and
1 purple martin on the martin  house.
